Nebraska Radon Program

The Nebraska Radon Program (NRP), in the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services seeks to increase public awareness of radon and testing in all homes.

The NRP is offering short-term radon test kits for $5 each.  These test kits are typically used by homeowners during the first measurement in a home. We also have long-term radon test kits for $15.

The NRP also administers a licensing program for radon measurement and mitigation businesses and individuals.

Businesses that provide radon measurement services are provided in the second link down in the middle column shown below    (Licensed Radon Measurement Businesses).

Businesses that are licensed to mitigate (or lower) radon levels in homes are provided in the third link down in the middle column shown below (Licensed Radon Mitigation Businesses).

Information pertaining to a variety of radon topics is provided on the website links shown below.

Pamphlets, brochures and other materials explaining radon are available upon request.

We also participate in many activities to increase awareness, promote testing for radon in homes and schools, mitigation (or fixing) of homes with elevated levels, and education for builders seeking to build soil gas ventilation systems in new house construction.
