Domestic violence hurts all members of the family. Statistics show that women sustain the majority of physical injuries. Yet, men are also victims. And we may never know the extent of emotional damage that is done to children who witness violent behavior between parents. Domestic violence is defined by Nebraska Law as abuse that occurs between spouses, persons living as spouses, or adult members of the same household. It is attempting to cause or intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing bodily injury with or without a deadly weapon or placing another in fear of imminent serious bodily injury. |
