MHCP - Examples of Qualifying Medical Conditions
- Orthopedic, scoliosis, rheumatoid arthritis
- Cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular conditions
- Craniofacial disorders including cleft lip, cleft palate, and other facial defects
- Heart conditions
- Cystic fibrosis
- Eye condition which require surgery
- Midline neurological defects including hydrocephalus and spina bifida
- Significant hearing loss
- Cancers including leukemia, lymphoma, and some tumors
- Severe asthma
- Hemophilia
- Diabetes
- Ongoing conditions including burns, seizure, ill premature babies, urology conditions,
Crohns disease, and other approved conditions
* This is only a list of examples; there may be other medical conditions that would
make a child eligible for the Medically Handicapped Childrens Program. Please
contact a MHCP worker if your child has a medical condition that you think might qualify
him/her for services. |
