  1. Hello, my name is Jack Daniel. I’m head of the state’s drinking water program. Come to Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island Sept. 9th through the 11th. . If you have a private water well, bring a cup-size sample of your water to the Natural Resources Tent and we’ll test it for nitrates, free of charge. Nitrates are a threat to infants, pregnant women and also to livestock. This is a message from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
