| The Nebraska Biological Father Registry is an
expansion of a previously established listing of men who wanted to preserve their right to
receive notice of adoption proceedings that involve their children born out of wedlock. The
Registry consists of men who voluntarily file the required notice with the Nebraska
Department of Health and Human Services, as well as any man -- made known to the
Department -- who has been found to be a father by a court of competent jurisdiction.
To check the Nebraska State Statutes related to the Biological Father Registry, visit
the Nebraska
Unicameral's Website , and click on "statutes". Then, click on
"Chapter 43. Infants and Juveniles". The relevant sections can be found at
43-104.01 through 43-104.24.
