What is hospice care?

Hospice care:

• Is support and comfort care provided to people at the end of their life to improve their quality of life.
• Treats the person as a whole and also supports the family and caregivers.
• Addresses physical, spiritual, and psychological issues to alleviate pain and suffering.
• May provide the following services:

• Nursing Care
• Help with a bath or other personal cares
• Medicine and equipment to help provide comfort and pain control
• Spiritual care
• Bereavement care for you and your family

Who needs hospice care?

Anyone who is at the end of their life and needs support, comfort, and help controlling pain

Do I qualify for hospice care?

You may qualify if you:

• Are Medicaid eligible
• Have a terminal illness and a doctor certifies that you have 6 months or less to live
• Choose to receive comfort and support and no longer wish to seek curative treatment for your illness

How do I find out if I can receive hospice care?
